Reactions on Hidden Camera

Nicole and Brian were so excited to hear we were shipping their DVDs that they asked if they could drive over to pick them up. They wanted to see some of the video right away. Knowing how fun they were, I decided to turn my little consumer palmcorder on them from the corner of the room. Here's their reaction.

Thanks for being such good sports and allowing me to share this Nicole!

Production Notes: Nicole and Brian ordered our 8 hour coverage, a Same Day Edit, and 16mm Wedding Film Vignettes.

Videojournalism Meets HD: HD Wedding Videos

I have never been one to 'talk tech' on my website. Nowhere will you find a picture of a video camera, or read about the kind of gear my audio engineers use. But this is different. HD is something everyone is beginning to appreciate.

When we were the first in the Philadelphia area to offer HD wedding video coverage over two years ago, we did not realize how long it would take before affordable Blu-Ray and HD DVD players would be available in Best Buy or Circuit City. It was a gamble I was willing to take.

As a wedding videojournalist, I've always loved the 16x9 (widescreen) format, the colors, and the breathtaking resolution. In the beginning, I delivered HD projects to a few of my corporate clients and began doing Same Day Edits in HiDef. However, with very few options to deliver HD content to consumers, there was little interest in HD among my brides and grooms.

This year it's different. Not only are clients asking for HD videos, we finally have numerous ways to deliver true HD content. We also have a lot of experience shooting and delivering HD weddings, with many completed projects to show prospective clients. "It's like looking through a window", remarked one of my recent clients.

Click on the picture above (a shot of me working hard in the Bridal Suite at the Ritz Carlton Hotel) to see a comparison of the resolutions available today.

Hi-Def Vegas Display Attracts Oprah Winfrey

LAS VEGAS, NV, June 6, 2007 – Over 21,000 jewelry retailers from 72 countries exited The 16th Annual JCK Show ~ Las Vegas 2007 with new products, new trends and new ideas to bring back to their retail stores. Over the last five days, the retailers had the chance to meet with 3,400 manufacturers and suppliers from over 20 countries that offered everything from diamonds, gems and watches to equipment technology and packaging – all of the key products needed for a successful retail business.

Media Wave Video Productions - DVideography's sister company - produced the content and engineered the 9x16 High Definition Displays for exibitor S and I Creations, manufacturers of the Sophia by Design line of fine jewelry.

"The displays were a show-stopper", commented Shaul Reznick - owner of S and I Creations. "Oprah Winfrey even made a stop at our exhibit and was blown away."

9x16 high definition displays or 'Vertical Video' productions are perfect for attracting or informing clients in a unique way. Hotels, restaurants, and real estate sales offices can utilize high definition video in a new way that makes sense for certain products and services.

For more information about new and exciting hi-def multi-media productions, visit Media Wave Video Productions at www.9x16.com

A special thanks to Sarah DiCicco for her amazing work on this project. I could not have done it without her.

Variety Club Honors Amanda McGrory

Next week, the Variety Club will honor World Champion Amanda McGrory. Meeting and working with Amanda on this Dave Williams Films project was extremely rewarding. What a beautiful person and a wonderfully supportive family!

I'd like to thank John Zale and Robert Busch of the Illinois Videographers Association for the local help in Chicago as I had to fly there to interview Amanda. Also, I'd like to recognize our own Jordan Oplinger for his part in the post-production.
